{"id":309,"date":"2015-05-22T08:06:41","date_gmt":"2015-05-22T08:06:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rawc.eu\/?page_id=309"},"modified":"2015-05-22T08:06:41","modified_gmt":"2015-05-22T08:06:41","slug":"strategy-and-specific-tasks-of-rawc","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/rawc.eu\/?page_id=309","title":{"rendered":"Strategy and specific tasks of RAWC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Overall strategy of RAWC is to bridge over the gap between Academia and Policy makers in the region and to help them in the implementation of regional and international best practices in the field of Animal Welfare.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rawc.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/RAWC-strategy.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-143 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/rawc.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/RAWC-strategy-300x200.png\" alt=\"RAWC strategy\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rawc.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/RAWC-strategy-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/rawc.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/RAWC-strategy.png 1002w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Specific tasks of Regional Animal Welfare Centre (RAWC):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To <strong>build structures<\/strong> and <strong>processes<\/strong> to actively <strong>share<\/strong> <strong>knowledge<\/strong> and <strong>expertise<\/strong> related to the<strong>implementation<\/strong> of <strong>EU legislation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>To conduct a <strong>screening<\/strong> and <strong>elaborate<\/strong> a <strong>clear map<\/strong> of the current situation and the <strong>priorities<\/strong> in the<strong>region<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>To <strong>cooperate<\/strong> and <strong>liaise<\/strong> with the European network of reference centers and facilitate bringing activities with the CC related to the implementation of EU legislation.<\/li>\n<li>To <strong>facilitate<\/strong> the consistent <strong>implementation<\/strong> and <strong>enforcement<\/strong> of <strong>EU legislation<\/strong> through the <strong>identification<\/strong>of difficulties and <strong>bottlenecks<\/strong> as well as related risks for <strong>animal welfare<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>To <strong>advise<\/strong> on <strong>interpretation<\/strong> of <strong>national<\/strong> and <strong>EU laws<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>To <strong>develop<\/strong> <strong>knowledge<\/strong> <strong>strategies<\/strong> to <strong>overcome difficulties<\/strong> and <strong>bottlenecks<\/strong> and to <strong>assist MS<\/strong> and <strong>CCs<\/strong>with <strong>implementation<\/strong> of <strong>legislation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>To <strong>increase<\/strong> stakeholders\u2019 <strong>awareness<\/strong>, <strong>engagement<\/strong> and <strong>co-operation<\/strong> in addressing <strong>animal welfare issues<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>To<strong> provide scientific<\/strong> and<strong> technical advice<\/strong> to <strong>national bodies<\/strong> on<strong> best practices<\/strong> to alleviate or<strong> resolve welfare problems<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>To <strong>conduct<\/strong> and\/or <strong>coordinate<\/strong> <strong>studies<\/strong> on the <strong>welfare status<\/strong> of <strong>animals<\/strong>, on <strong>methods<\/strong> and <strong>indicators<\/strong> to<strong>assess welfare<\/strong> and on welfare <strong>improvement strategies<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>To <strong>identify<\/strong> and <strong>disseminate<\/strong> relevant <strong>training<\/strong> <strong>materials<\/strong>, and if appropriate design and <strong>conduct training courses<\/strong> for staff of Competent Authorities and experts from third countries.<\/li>\n<li>To <strong>disseminate research<\/strong> <strong>findings<\/strong> and <strong>technical innovations<\/strong> and to <strong>co-operate<\/strong> with European Union<strong>research<\/strong> <strong>bodies<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>To<strong> minimise duplication<\/strong> of effort by <strong>Competent Authorities<\/strong> from MSs and CCs in <strong>developing tools<\/strong> to<strong>implement<\/strong> and <strong>enforce<\/strong> animal welfare <strong>legislation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overall strategy of RAWC is to bridge over the gap between Academia and Policy makers in the region and to help them in the implementation of regional and international best practices in the field of Animal Welfare. &nbsp;
